The Future Is Now!

ZZ Top's new album, La Futura, will be released on September 11th.

ZZ Top's next album is done and a release date set. La Futura, their first studio effort in nine years, will be out on September 11th. Produced by Rick Rubin, it contains 10 songs, which singer-guitarist Billy Gibbons says "recall the directness of our early stuff but doesn't turn our backs on contemporary technology. The result of this melding of the past and the present is, of course, La Futura."

Four of the album's songs were released last month on an EP called Texicali. They are "I Gotsta Get Paid,” “Chartreuse,” “Consumption” and “Over You.” The remaining six tracks are “Flyin’ High,” "I Don’t Wanna Lose, Lose, You,” “Big Shiny Nine,” “It’s too Easy Mañana,” “Heartache in Blue” and “Have a Little Mercy.”

ZZ wraps up their European tour tomorrow (Friday) in Norway and the next U.S. leg starts on August 14th in Bakersfield, California.
