JANIS JOPLIN: Expanded Reissue of Pearl Announced |

Janis Joplin's final, and arguably greatest, album is soon to get the expanded-reissue treatment. The Pearl Sessions, due April 17th, adds the original mono versions of the singles released from the album -- such as "Me and Bobby McGee" -- as well as newly discovered alternate versions and outtakes. Sony/Legacy credits the recent discovery of previously uncatalogued audio tapes from Pearl's sessions that were produced by Paul Rothschild. There's also a live recording of "Tell Mama" from Janis' 1970 summer tour, where she was backed by The Full Tilt Boogie Band, who also accompanied her on Pearl. |
