BON JOVI: Sambora Coming Back Next Year?
Richie Sambora says he's thinking of returning to Bon Jovi next year.
Despite the rumors and speculation, Sambora insists there was no "malice" in his leaving the band. He says, "You get along for 30 years, that’s a damn good marriage... I was coming out of something a little bit different with my solo record, Aftermath of the Lowdown, and it just didn’t go in the right direction for me artistically, which is not to say it’s a bad thing... I did 14 cycles for 30 years, so I missed a lot. A lot of life happened. And I also had three solo albums and tours, wrote songs for other people... Burnt isn’t the right word, but I almost fell out of love with music and I needed to fall in love with it again.”
Richie says he's been using the time away to be with his daughter, Ava, and to help his mother, who recently fractured her hip. "I’m her only son, so I have to come out [to New Jersey] and make sure her doctors are OK. But she’s doing well... I needed to be with the kid, go to the parent-teacher conference, take out the garbage and pick up the dog crap, then watch her play and put on her Sweet 16 party."
Sambora is also entertaining writing songs with Lady Gaga as well as working on a new solo album.
