Gene Simmons went to see Van Halen perform over the weekend in Los Angeles and Tweeted about it, saying, "Alex [Van Halen] greeted us backstage. Good to see him again. And the band? Edward [Van Halen] has a mastery of his instrument that has got to be seen and heard to believe. It's hard to imagine all the sound coming out of one guitar."

Simmons helped Van Halen on early demos that led to them getting a record deal with Warner Brothers.
