The Apple trademark now belongs to the electronics and technology giant. But it came at the cost of a half-billion-dollars. CNET.com reports that the final barrier to enacting the 2007 settlement Steve Jobs' company reached with The Beatles was eclipsed this week when a suit by a Canadian company Apple Box Productions Sub Inc. was dismissed. The trademark was officially registered to the makers of MacBooks, iPhones, iPods and iPads on Thursday -- with the Beatles licensed to continue using it on their music and films.
