ROLLING STONES: Tribute Show Tonight in New York |
|
The Rolling Stones will be saluted tonight at New York's Carnegie Hall -- where back in 1964, they gave one of their first American shows. Tonight, 21 different artists -- including Jackson Browne, Ronnie Spector (whose Ronettes once used the Stones as an opening act), Art Garfunkel and Marianne Faithfull (who had the first hit version of "As Tears Go By") -- will perform the 21 songs from the band's Hot Rocks greatest hits compilation. The show is a fundraiser benefiting several music education charities. As of yesterday, producer Michael Dorf told the New York Post said the odds were just 50-50 that any of the Stones will attend the show. |
