QUEEN, BEATLES & MAIDEN: But Is Her Majesty a Fan?

In conjunction with Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, 60 years on the throne, the HMV music store chain conducted a poll to find out what the best British album of the past 60 years is. And, surprisingly, the list was not topped by The Beatles or Queen, but rather Iron Maiden. Their Number of the Beast collection garnered just over nine-percent of the vote followed by Depeche Mode's Violator at two, The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road at four and five, and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon at five.
