Ronnie Wood reportedly knows who he wants as his best man when he marries his fiance, Sally Humphreys. He is going with three and word out of the U.K. says they will be one of his sons along with Keith Richards and Rod Stewart.
The U.K.'s Sunday People quotes a source who says, "He has joked he wants 'about five' best men but he is mainly looking at his mate Rod, bandmate Keith and one of his sons. If he can have them all, he will."
Woody plans to say "I do" for a third time next year, possibly as early as January, with the source saying, "Ronnie wants a New Year's Day wedding... Sally would be happy with a few close friends and family. Ronnie would love to invite everyone so they are going to have to meet somewhere in the middle. He loves a party. People are joking he'll have 3,000 guests and she'll have six. Sally won't want a lot of fuss. She is hoping to wear a vintage 1950s dress with sentimental value."
Sally is a U.K. theater producer who is 31 years younger than Woody. The Daily Mail columnist Jan Moir had some fun with the impending nuptials, writing:
"Start me up? Someone's got to tell Sally that soon it is going to take a crank shaft and a pair of defibrillators, at the very least."
"[She] claims they have a lot in common. Sally, many women share a love of fava beans with Hannibal Lecter -- but it doesn't mean they have to marry the brute."
"Despite the cushioning effect of his considerable fortune, none of this bodes well for a peaceful old age, nor makes him an attractive matrimonial prospect for any woman. Yet, Sally has got the big grin and whorl-eyed look of a gal who loves publicity more than perhaps she should, while Ronnie has the wolfish smirk of the serial-skirt chaser who can't believe his luck."
"Unfortunately, age-gaps are not like arteries -- they widen over time, they do not narrow. The poor girl might end up as nothing more than a carer, a helpmeet, someone to bring him something eggy on a tray for lunch. Just like a young girl should."
