JOHN LENNON: Listen In

A long lost recording of John Lennon has surfaced, but it's not a song. It's a phone conversation between Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono discussing the release of activist-writer John Sinclair, the manager of the MC5 who was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for possession of two joints.

Lennon wrote the song "John Sinclair" in protest of his sentencing and appeared at a Sinclair benefit rally in December 1971 to perform it. Sinclair was released three days after the rally as the Michigan Supreme Court ruled the state's marijuana statutes unconstitutional.

Sinclair is on tour in the U.K. and Ireland.
