Greetings!  

I can't believe the mountain bike race season here in AZ is almost over...just one race left on the MBAA circuit, May 18th in Flagstaff. Head on up the hill for cooler temps and some great mountain bike racing. For more info go to www.mbaa.net. 

Snake season is here..I've already come across many on the trails, so take extra precaution.  Be aware of your surroundings..don't put your hands anywhere you cannot see...be mindful of pets and how they react (there are some great snake training programs for dogs) and if you come across a snake give it some room and walk/ride around it (don't try and force it off the trail..NOT a good ending)  But most of all, enjoy the beauty our state has to offer and tread lightly!

Camelback mountains Echo Canyon trailhead is now closed until sometime this fall. There will be a redesign plus the addition of more parking spaces as well as much needed trail maintanence on that side of the mountain.  It looks as though it will be gated off, so no access. Howver, the Cholla side remains open.  This trail see's over 400,000 visitiors per year and if you frequent the area, you know how hard it is to find parking..hopefully the improvements will help.
