If you're going to steal a phone, you might want to check the settings before you start messing around with it.
A Savannah man charged with burglary was caught after a picture of him showed up on the victim's Facebook page, according to a Savannah Morning News report.
The victim, a Florida native, told Savannah police that her car had been broken into and two phones stolen on the night of Nov. 21.
Around 3 a.m. on Nov. 22, the victim noticed a photo of someone she did not know on her Facebook page. She told police that one of the stolen phones was programmed to automatically upload photos taken with it to Facebook.
When the photo was turned over to police, a detective assigned to the case thought he recognized the man it depicted as 18-year-old Timothy Jackson, who was currently on probation.
Jackson was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
