
The owner of Sourdough Kitchen in Seddon is now pleading for his dough back.
"Unfortunately, I don't think it will be returning any time soon," owner Alex Rogers told the Herald Sun.
Things went sour during a busy lunch service.
"In a moment of distraction" cash was taken out of the till and placed in a brown paper bag to be taken to the safe.
"It just got placed near bags and a staff member grabbed it without noticing what was inside and put a loaf of bread in."
He described what happened as an accident.
But Mr Rogers hoped "an honest person took it and brings it back".
