If you happened to run into kindly old Ned Jay Oyler on his way out of the supermarket Aug. 28, you might comment, 'Hey, Ned, is that $68 worth of meat in your pants or are you just glad to see me?'
Turns out it was meat.
Pennsylvania state police in Newport say Oyler, 75, stuffed $68.57 in packaged meat down his pants at the Giant Foods store in Howe Township, Perry County and tried to leave without paying.
Oyler was nabbed and charged with summary retail theft.
