Chuck Berry who was set to pick up the Polar Music Prize today (Tuesday) in Stockholm, Sweden won’t make to the ceremony.

A note posted on the Polar Music Prize‘s website says that the 88-year-old rock ‘n’ roll legend “has been struggling with his health for a while” and adds, “We have been given notice that he must not travel and therefore he will not be able to come to Stockholm.”

The Polar Prize MD Marie Ledin said in the statement, “Although he will not be present in person, he will be with us in spirit.”

Berry joins such past Polar Music Prize laureates as Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, B.B. King and others.
