SPRINGSTEEN, PAGE & CCR: Supporting Record Store Day

Record Store Day, a celebration of independent record stores, is this Saturday and among the artists lending their support with special releases are Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Page, CCR and the Grateful Dead.
•Bruce Springsteen’s American Beauty is a 12-inch vinyl EP with four previously unreleased original songs — “American Beauty,” “Mary Mary,” “Hurry Up Sundown” and “Hey Blue Eyes.”
•Creedence Clearwater Revival’s 10-inch vinyl disc titled The ’69 Singles contains the A-sides of seven singles — “Proud Mary,” “Born on the Bayou,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Lodi,” “Green River,” “Down on the Corner” and “Fortunate Son” — as well as “Commotion,” the B-side of “Green River.”
•Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes’ 2000 album Live at the Greek is reissued on triple vinyl.
•Nirvana is releasing “Pennyroyal Tea”/”I Hate Myself and Want to Die,” a seven-inch single that was slated to be released in the spring of 1994, but was canceled after Kurt Cobain’s death.
•Grateful Dead’s Live at Hampton Coliseum is double-vinyl set that documents the band’s first performance in Hampton, Virginia on May 4th, 1979.
•R.E.M.’s Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions collects the band’s appearances on the show in those years. Five tracks from the ’91 session and six from 2001 have never been released. R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills will make an in-store appearance in support of it at the Bull Moose record store in Scarborough, Maine.
