PETE TOWNSHEND: Does First Original Song for TV Show
Pete Townshend has written his first-ever song for a TV show.
That seems hard to believe with the trio of Who songs used as themes for the CSI series of shows. But “It Must Be Done,” which will appear on the season finale of FX’s The Americans on April 30th, is the first track Townshend has written and recorded specifically for a TV program.
Another Townshend song will appear in the season premiere of Showtime’s Californication on April 13th — a remix of “Let My Love Open the Door” from L.A. producer Philip Stier will open the show, and the original version from 1980 will close the episode.
