Baker Is Back.

CREAM: Ginger Has Baked Up Something New

Cream drummer Ginger Baker is releasing his first album in 16 years. It’s called Why, and among the material are covers of songs by Wayne Shorter and Sonny Rollins.

Baker will support the June 24th release with a 13-date tour with his band, Jazz Confusion, starting on June 14th in Oakland and running through June 30th at the Montreal Jazz Festival.

Baker isn’t the only member of Cream with a new album. Jack Bruce just released Silver Rails, his first solo album since 2003, and Eric Clapton just announced the July release of his tribute to JJ Cale, Eric Clapton and Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale.
