Clapton Bassist Goes Solo.

ERIC CLAPTON: Bassist East Gives Solo Album All-Star Launch

Hot off a Grammy Awards performance with Daft Punk, Eric Clapton-Phil Collins-Toto-Fourplay bassist Nathan East held a release parties for his self-titled solo debut album in New York and L.A. this week. At Tuesday’s L.A. show his 13-piece band included Toto keyboardist David Paich, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers drummer Steve Ferrone, guitarist Ray Parker Junior, Jimmy Kimmel Live keyboardist Jeff Babko and sax legend Tom Scott.

East would probably have held the parties closer to the album’s March 25th release, but he hits the road in Asia with Clapton on February 18th and will be out with him on and off though the end of June.

Michael McDonald and Sara Bareilles each sing a song on East’s album.
