AC/DC: Family Confirms Dreaded Disease
They have issued a statement saying Malcom Young does indeed have dementia.
The family of AC/DC founder and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young have confirmed that he does indeed have dementia. In a statement they say, “Malcolm is suffering from dementia and the family thanks you for respecting their privacy.”
The news broke last week following an announcement by the band that he would no longer be playing with them. His nephew, Stevie Young, has taken his place on their new album, Rock or Bust, and will play on their tour next year. Malcolm is 61 and is living in a nursing home in Sydney, Australia.
