So many Beatles covers, so little time.

In an attempt to steer its readers to the cream of the thousands of versions of The Fab Four’s songs out there, the British newspaper The Guardian has published a list of what they consider to be 10 of the best. The results may surprise and befuddle you.

10) “Here Comes the Sun” – Charles Wright
9) “Get Back” – Al Green
8) “Sexy Sadie” – The Unthanks
7) “Blackbird” (retitled “Black Bird Singing”) – The Paragons
6) “Lady Madonna” – Fats Domino
5) “Tomorrow Never Knows” – Junior Parker
4) “Norwegian Wood” – Cornershop
3) “The Word” – The Harvey Averne Dozen
2) “We Can Work It Out” – Stevie Wonder
1) “Please Please Me” – The Score

The Score, for the record, were a mid-60’s psychedelic band from Manchester, England that, according to the piece, offered a “powerful deconstruction…a melee of hard driving rhythm, crashing power chords, guitar feedback and overwrought vocals” to…”Please Please Me.” Alright then.
