KISS: Dressed to Kill…Again
KISS is the latest act to team up with John Varvatos for the fashion designer’s new campaign. Outfitted in suits, just as they were on the cover of their 1975 album, Dressed to Kill, the band performed for Varvatos on Saturday night in Italy at his winter preview show for Milan Fashion Week.
Paul Stanley says, “I knew John’s clothes for years because they have all those elements that I love in clothes, which are timeless. There is a style that goes back to some of the great rock ‘n’ roll bands of the 60s.”
Last September in New York, not far from where KISS posed for the cover of the Dressed to Kill album, they did a show at the Varvatos gallery, which occupies the space that was formerly punk club CBGB. They also did a photo shoot for the campaign at that time in Brooklyn.
Other artists who have taken part in campaigns for Varvatos include Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, Jimmy Page, Alice Cooper, Velvet Revolver and Green Day.
