GEORGE HARRISON: Weeklong Tribute
Conan O’Brien to honor the late Beatle on his show each night next week.
Conan O’Brien will pay tribute to the music of George Harrison over four nights starting Monday, September 22nd. He’s booked Beck, Norah Jones, George’s son, Dhani Harrison, and others to sing Harrison songs on his TBS show. This all ties in with the September 23rd release of the new Harrison box set, The Apple Years: 1968-75.
The venue for the George Harrison tribute show, George Fest, has been moved from the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles to the much bigger Fonda Theater. It will still be held on Sunday, September 28th, with performances promised by Brian Wilson, Ann Wilson, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Ben Harper and members of The Killers, Spoon, Velvet Revolver, Weezer, Guster, The Flaming Lips and The Strokes.
