A George Harrison box set is on the way. Though there isn’t much information to share at this time on The Apple Ltd. Years, it’s safe to assume that it will cover the six albums he released through The Beatles‘ Apple Records — Wonderwall Music (1968), Electronic Sound (1969), All Things Must Pass (1970), Concert for Bangla Desh (1971), Living in the Material World (1973), Dark Horse (1974) and Extra Texture (Read All About It) (1975). It should be out in the fall.
Carlos Santana‘s wife, drummer Cindy Blackman, has returned to Lenny Kravitz‘s band.
Despite heavy rain and lightning, Richie Sambora performed at the Citybreak Festival stage in Seoul, South Korea over the weekend. He says, “I traveled thousands of miles across the globe to perform for these fans and I wasn’t going to let them down. With over two hours of rain and everyone wanting to cancel the show, we found that right time to take the stage and rocked it out making sure nobody left disappointed.” Sambora performs in Tokyo on Wednesday.
Billy Joel serenaded his ex-wife Christie Brinkley last Thursday at his once-a-month Madison Square Garden show by singing “Uptown Girl” to her while she sat in the front row. He wrote the song for her and she starred in its video. During the performance, Joel had a cameraman focus on Christie, who was shown on the big screens dancing along.
