Former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman is mourning the loss of his namesake, longtime friend Gordon Lee Whyman, who was the inspiration for Bill’s stage name. Bill and Gordon knew each other since the mid-’50s when they met in Britain’s Royal Air Force. Bill’s real name is William Perks.
Queen will make a special announcement this Monday at 5am ET at QueenOnline.com. Speculation is that it will be more dates for their tour with Adam Lambert.

Whitesnake will release a new concert album, Live in ‘84 – Back to the Bone, on November 11th. Available on DVD and a deluxe CD/DVD edition, this collection was taken from David Coverdale‘s archive of audio and video recordings and unheard demos of the 1983 and ’84 line-ups.
The George Harrison tribute week on Conan ended Thursday with Norah Jones doing “Behind That Locked Door” from All Things Must Pass. That 1970 triple album yielded three of the week’s four performances — Beck did “Wah-Wah” and Harrison’s son Dhani did “Let It Down” and “Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll).” The week’s other guest, Paul Simon, did “Here Comes the Sun,” which The Beatles recorded for the Abbey Road album.
