Nominees for the Grammy Awards, which will be held February 8th in Los Angeles, will be announced tomorrow (Friday) morning and throughout the day. The Album of the Year category will be kept secret until tomorrow night’s (Friday) CBS-TV special, A Very Grammy Christmas.

According to, Paul McCartney is no longer the world’s wealthiest recording artist. His $660 million has been surpassed by Madonna‘s $800 million. Bono is on the list at number-six, Elton John at nine.

Kate Pierson of The B-52’s will release her first solo album early next year. Guitars and Microphones will be out on February 17th.

Denny Laine of Wings and Terry Sylvester of The Hollies will each perform a complete album by their respective former bands at McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, California on January 10th. Laine will playBand on the Run, while Sylvester takes on the 1976Hollies Livealbum. Brit invader Billy J. Kramer is also set for a rare West Coast appearance at McCabe’s on January 18th.
