Now it doesn’t look as though Santana will hit the road next year on a bill with Journey as Carlos Santana had hoped. Instead he will resume his tour in support of his latest album, Corazon, starting in March in Florida followed by Europe in the summer. The only two shows with Journey will be in Mexico in late March.
Steve Winwood will tour the Midwest, Southeast and East Coast in the Spring. The full slate of dates can be found on his website, SteveWinwood.com.
A month after stem cell surgery for lymphoma, Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell is back to work, in the studio this week writing songs with his side project, Last in Line, featuring other former members of Dio. The album will be recorded in January with Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson, who also played with Dio, producing. Campbell says, “It’s such a rush to wrestle my Les Paul like this again.”
Mick Jagger writes on Twitter, “So glad to hear [the soundtrack to] Get on Up [the James Brown bio-pic he produced] has been nominated for a Grammy! Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media – wish us luck!”
Motorhead will enter an L.A. studio with producer Cameron Webb this January to record their 22nd studio album.
