Dave Davies reports that one of his and Ray’s sisters, Joyce, has died. The Davies brothers were the two youngest and only boys of eight children. Dave dedicated The Kinks’ “Come Dancing” to her, which was originally dedicated to their sister Renee, who died while dancing at a London ballroom. 

The Newport Folk Festival, held each summer in Newport, Rhode Island, will hold a California version on September 26th and 27th on the Santa Monica Pier featuring Jackson Browne, Lucinda Williams and others. 

Peter Frampton, Melissa Etheridge, Huey Lewis and The News, and The Wallflowers have signed on for Doobie Brothers’ manager Bruce Cohn’s annual Charity Events Fall Music Festival at his winery in Northern California in September.

Bad Company will reissue their first two albums — Bad Company and Straight Shooter — July 1st on 180-gram vinyl. Both releases will contain all of the original packaging.
