Guitarist Albert Lee will celebrate his 70th birthday next month with two all-star shows in London. Among those joining in are Gary Brooker, Dave Edmunds, Andy Fairweather-Low and Gary “U.S.” Bonds.

Steve Van Zandt has spent part of his free time in Australia in the studio helping Aussie singer Jimmy Barnes with a new song. The two first worked together in 1985 on Jimmy’s For the Working Class Man album.

Velvet Revolver/ex-Guns n’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum will release his new album, Stratosphere, on March 11th under the name Matt Sorum’s Fierce Joy.

Ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante will release his new solo album, Enclosure, on April 8th.

After doing four acoustic shows at New York’s Carnegie Hall last month, Neil Young will do two at L.A.’s Dolby Theater, on March 29th and 30th.

Ian Anderson will release his next album, Homo Erraticus, on April 15th, and will tour the U.S. from September through November.

Lou Reed and Joni Mitchell’s “dual film” Blu-rays will be released March 25th by Eagle Rock. Reed’s set includes Transformer and Live in Montreux 2000. Mitchell’s collection is Woman of Heart and Mind and Painting With Words and Music.
