Former Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes has joined the line-up of the Sunflower Jam in London on April 4th. The cancer benefit is organized by Jacky Paice, the wife of Purple drummer Ian Paice, and this year’s show is honoring the late Purple keyboardist Jon Lord, who died of the disease.

Foreigner have added an unplugged show to their U.K. tour on April 22nd in London. It will also include a Q-&-A session with the band.

Todd Rundgren received the Les Paul Award last Friday at the Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards held during the NAMM Convention in Anaheim, California. The awards recognize outstanding achievement in professional audio technology and production. Past recipients include Pete Townshend, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Miller, Steve Vai, Lindsay Buckingham and others.

Elton John will host his 22nd annual Academy Awards Viewing Party on March 2nd at West Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. All the proceeds will go to his AIDS Foundation. Among the event’s numerous co-chairs are Steven Tyler and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.
