Former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts has announced tour dates into August. They are listed on his website, DickeyBetts.com. Betts’ son Duane, who also plays guitar, is currently recording his first solo album in Memphis with former Booker T. & the MG’s guitarist Steve Cropper producing.

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons along with Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers recently jammed with Hawaiian bluesman Wille K at his annual BluesFest on Maui.

Alice Cooper, Steven Tyler, Marilyn Manson and Johnny Depp performed together Saturday night at Duesenberg Guitar’s NAMM after-party. Among the songs they did were The Doors’ “Break on Through,” The Rolling Stones’ “Brown Sugar,” “House of the Rising Sun,” Cooper’s “School’s Out,” Aerosmith’s “Seasons of Wither” and The Beatles’ “Come Together.”

Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, who turned 70 today (Monday), has been going through some newly discovered black-and-white footage of the band from the late ’60s.

Eric Clapton has added a date in Memphis on April 30th, which will take place just after his first-ever appearance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans on April 27th.
