BLACK SABBATH: The End Is Near?
Has Black Sabbath reached the end of the road? Guitarist Tony Iommi says that a show scheduled for the Fourth of July in London could be their swan song.
He tells Metal Hammer that their headlining slot at the Barclaycard British Summer Time festival might be it for the 45-year-old band. He says, “It could be the last ever Sabbath show. I don’t want it to be, but there’s nothing really planned touring-wise after that show, so for all we know that could be it, really. To be honest, I don’t want to be touring to this extent too much longer, because it makes me feel so bad. I’m at a stage now where I have no support, which means I have to see whether [my] cancer is coming back or if it’s still there or what. I can’t commit to doing another two years or anything like that. I have to play it as it comes now.”
If you were hoping to see Sabbath one last time, make sure you have a valid passport — all of their remaining shows are overseas.
