BOB MARLEY: Legend to Get 30th Anniversary Update
A 30th Anniversary Edition of the top selling reggae album of all time, the Bob Marley Legend compilation, is coming out on July 1st.
The collection, which actually was released 30 years ago today (Thursday), is being revamped as a CD/Blu-ray Pure Audio Disc combo set, with these features:
•5.1 mixes on the Blu-ray Pure Audio Disc done by Grammy-winning remix engineer Bob Clearmountain.
•Previously unreleased alternate takes of “Easy Skanking” and “”Punky Reggae Party” not on the original album.
•The live version of “No Woman, No Cry” on the original edition of Legend has been replaced the studio version.
•The combo set will come in a 28-page, casebound book, featuring extended liner notes, unseen photos and forewords by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder, plus liner notes by Marley biographer Christopher Farley. It will also be available on tri-color — yellow, green and red — vinyl, packaged in a double gatefold LP.
Legend is the longest-charting album in the history of Billboard’s Catalog Albums chart, at 1110 weeks — and counting. It’s been on either that chart or the Billboard 200 since 1988.
