THE BEATLES: Ron Howard to Direct Doc
The theatrical film will focus on the band’s history as a live act.
Ron Howard will direct a theatrical documentary on The Beatles‘ career as a live act.
The film will focus on their days in the clubs of Liverpool, England, and Hamburg, Germany and run through their final appearance, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in 1966. Apple Corps, Imagine Entertainment and Nigel Sinclair’s White Horse Pictures are producing the film, which is expected to be in theaters late in 2015. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison are cooperating with the producers and will be interviewed.
Early research for the project was conducted by One Voice One World. They discovered footage shot in 8-millimeter and Super 8 that has never been available to the public, along with soundboard recordings from collectors.
