MIKE LOVE: Beach Boys Singer Signs Book Deal
He’ll detail more than five decades in the band he co-founded with his cousin Briain Wilson amidst a turbulent America.
Mike Love plans to publish his memoir in 2016. The Beach Boys frontman and co-founder broke the news on his website Wednesday night of his deal with Penguin Books.
Tentatively titled Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy, the book will be co-written by James S. Hirsch. It promises to detail five decades of writing and recording. By his own estimate Mike has performed 5,600 concerts in more than 25 countries.
He’ll touch on his spiritual journey through transcendental meditation, The Beach Boys’ family roots, including what he admits is a complex relationship with his cousin Brian Wilson and the band’s endearingly appealing music.
Mike comments, “I’ve had an incredible life with a lot of triumphs, my share of heartbreak and some pretty amazing experiences. There are a lot of things I haven’t shared before, and I’m looking forward to opening up about my life and my work in this book. It’s a story about family, music, a country in transition, and audiences all over the world coming together in harmony.”
