The Eagles, Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones are finalists for the Billboard Touring Awards, alongside such contemporary acts as One Direction, Katy Perry, Arcade Fire and Luke Bryant.

The History of the Eagles tour is nominated as Top Tour along with Justin Timberlake and One Direction.

McCartney and the Stones were both nominated for the highest-grossing single engagement by an artist. Coincidentally, they took place at the same venue — The Tokyo Dome. McCartney’s is for his November 2013 shows, while the Stones performed there from February into March.

Billboard executive Ray Waddell explains, “In this era of fragmented digital consumption, live performance remains paramount in building and sustaining an artist’s career.”

The winners will be announced at a November 20th gala at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.
