GEORGE HARRISON: Back to the Beginning
His estate releases a new box set today, The Apple Years 1968-75.
George Harrison‘s new box set is out today (Tuesday). The Apple Years 1968-75 contains the six studio albums he recorded and released on The Beatles‘ Apple Records between those years. They are Wonderwall Music, Electronic Sound, All Things Must Pass, Living in the Material World, Dark Horse and Extra Texture (Read All About It).
The box also contains an exclusive DVD with several video pieces, including a new seven-minute film with previously unreleased footage. There is also an exclusive perfect-bound book with an introduction by George’s son, Dhani Harrison, new essays and rare and previously unpublished images.
Dhani, who oversaw the production of this collection, says, “I am so happy that what we started a decade ago by releasing The Dark Horse Years is now complete with the release of his first six albums as The Apple Years. Some of these records have long been out of print, and so I cannot wait for music lovers to get their hands on these newly remastered versions. It’s a very proud moment for us, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us in any way to achieve this.”
This week’s tribute to Harrison on Conan continues tonight with Harrison’s friend, Paul Simon. Beck kicked off the week last night. Other guests this week include Norah Jones and Dhani Harrison.
