ZZ TOP: With Dusty on the Mend, They’ll Hit the Road in ’15
Hill slipped and fell on the band’s tour bus last month, injuring his hip.
ZZ Top will be back on the road in 2015. The band announced that they’ll return to performing as bassist/guitarist Dusty Hill is on the mend and should be fully recovered by then. Hill slipped and fell on the band’s tour bus last month, injuring his hip.
Billy F. Gibbons and Frank Beard said in a statement, “We’re looking forward to getting out there and rockin’ it with Dusty in a big way…100 percent.”
Dusty, meanwhile, seems to have a sense of humor about the whole situation and wants to see Slim Harpo‘s “Hip Shake” added to the band’s set.
Six dates of the band’s tour with Jeff Beck have been rescheduled for May, while five fall dates have been scrapped and ticket holders will receive refunds. Those holding tickets for other fall dates are advised to hold onto them until the new dates are added early next week.
