Sting has already released an album of songs from his upcoming Broadway musical — now you can watch him perform them live on DVD.

The Last Ship — Live at the Public Theater is coming out on September 23rd. The concert was filmed last year on his birthday, October 2nd, during a run of 10 benefit concerts at the New York theater. Amazon will stream the video starting on its release date and is already offering an exclusive audio version of The Last Ship that includes three bonus tracks.

Sting was joined by a 14-piece band for that show. Many of them also hail from the area around Newcastle, England where he grew up, including singer Jimmy Nail, who also appears in the upcoming stage production. The Last Ship, which revolves around the death of the region’s shipbuilding industry, begins previewing on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre on September 29th, with opening night set for October 26th.

A three-minute clip from the DVD is posted on YouTube.
