GRATEFUL DEAD: Dead Heads Have No Excuse Not to Shower
Fans are not being allowed to camp during the Chicago shows in July.
Fans of the Grateful Dead, sometimes known as Dead Heads — some of who are known to be quite grungy — will have no reason not to shower before they go to what could possibly be the band’s last three shows ever in July at Chicago’s Soldier Field. The city will not allow them to camp in the parking lots surrounding the stadium, citing safety concerns. The shows are July 3rd, 4th and 5th.
The shows sold out in minutes, but if you plan to be in Chicago then you may still be able to see the show. Promoter Peter Shapiro says, “We’re going to try to create ways to experience the show outside the stadium, using technology. Whether you’re at home, or out in the community, we’re working on a way to bring the show to fans who aren’t in Soldier Field with high-level audio and video.”
