BEATLES: Girl Named for Song Has to Shorten It for Credit
Summer Strawberry Fields Forever Cole was told by a bank she could not use her full name on a charge card.
A British teenager named for a Beatles song has been told it won’t fit on a credit card. According to the London tabloid The Mirror, Summer Strawberry Fields Forever Cole — whose Beatles-fan father decided on her name — had to settled for Summer Cole to get her first plastic.
The 16-year old from Kent, England says she’s proud of her extended name and would never want to change it. And she really is a Beatles fan, adding, “I have pictures of the band on my wall and I have some of their albums and my favorite song is ‘Please Please Me’.”
It turns out her name is a bit of a compromise — her mother insisted on placing Summer before “Strawberry Fields Forever.” And it’s really her name — the Mirror printed a copy of her birth certificate.
Her brother Connor‘s middle name is Lennon.
