PINK FLOYD: A Flaming Dark Side Companion
Much has been made of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon syncing up with The Wizard of Oz. Now, alt-rockers The Flaming Lips are releasing their own companion to Dark Side, meant to be played in tandem with the classic Floyd album — or 1939 Oz film.
Flaming Side of the Moon is due Monday through participating digital retailers. A press release recommends, “For ideal listening conditions, fans are encouraged to seek out the original Alan Parsons’ engineered quadrophonic LP mix of Dark Side, but it will work with the album on any format.”
This isn’t the first time The Lips have visited the Dark Side. In 2009, they covered the entire album with such friends as Henry Rollins and Peaches.
