STYX: JY Goes 2-for-4 With NFL Wild Card Picks
James “JY” Young of Styx, our NFL analyst, went 2-for-4 in picking this weekend’s NFL Wild Card Playoff Games.
On Saturday in the AFC it was the Indianapolis Colts coming from 28 points down, the second most in NFL Playoff history, to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 45-to-44 in Indianapolis. JY picked the Colts to win by a field goal — three points. The Colts now advance to the Divisional round to play the New England Patriots in suburban Boston on Saturday night.
In Saturday’s NFC match-up, the New Orleans Saints came from behind to kick a field goal in the final seconds for a 26-to-24 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly. JY had the Eagles by a field goal. The Saints now travel to Seattle for a Saturday afternoon showdown with the Seahawks.
Sunday’s games had the San Diego Chargers upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals in Cincy by a score of 27-to-10. JY thought the Bengals would win by a field goal. With the win, the Chargers head to Denver to go head-to-head with Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Sunday.
And in Sunday’s late game in frigid Green Bay, Wisconsin, JY was spot on when he said the San Francisco 49ers would defeat the Packers by a field goal, which they did with time running out, 23-to-20. It’s now onto a warmer climate for the 49ers as they face the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday.
JY will be back at the end of this week to break down the Divisional Playoffs.
