Joe Perry has been talking about his autobiography for a few years, and today (Tuesday) Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith finally hits stores shelves and digital retailers.

Perry is the third member of Aerosmith to tell his tale following Joey Kramer and Steven Tyler. He tells us, “Five guys can have an experience and everyone of them will have a different take on it.”

In addition to writing about the band, Perry also talks about growing up in New Hampshire; his learning disability; struggles with his father; his failed first marriage and finding the love of his life, his second wife, Billie; the drug abuse; the relationship with his “other” wife, Steven Tyler, and much more, including his childhood desire to become a marine biologist. “I’d always wanted to be on Jacques Cousteau‘s crew,” Perry tells us.

He’ll mark today’s release with a question-and-answer session with Eddie Trunk, host of That Metal Show on VH1 Classic, tonight at the Barnes and Noble in Manhattan’s Union Square.
