Hey Phoenix,

I’m Michael Abad, Production/Imaging Director, and On-Air talent here at KSLX.  You can hear me talking on lots of commercials as well as playing great classic rock midday’s 10 am – 2 pm.  Outside of KSLX, I am also the commercial voice for the Harlem Globetrotters as well as our division rival Seattle Seahawks. (Sorry Cardinal fans)  To all of my school teachers growing up (and to my Parents) that said I talked too much in class. “Look at me now, getting paid!”

I grew up in the Detroit area “where they have the greatest Rock n’ Roll audiences in the World!” I’ve seen way too many shows to count but have a few favorites that include Van Halen: Dave and Sammy, David Bowie, Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughan, U2, Pearl Jam, Clapton, Led Zep, and Springsteen. The soundtrack of my life goes from the Temptations to Metallica and everything in between! I’m just glad to have grown up with the greatest music ever we call “Classic Rock!”

I’ve been in the valley since 1987, so I’m pretty much a native.  When I’m not talking for a living, you can find me out on my mountain bike exploring the numerous trails of Arizona, camping, skiing, kayaking, or hiking with my wife, connecting with nature and this beautiful state in which we live.  Sedona is my favorite, however, I’m amazed as to how many people grew up here and have never seen the Grand Canyon! Are you kidding me? Get up there already!

We also have a household of fur babies.  Although we lost our 2 beloved pups this past year, our 4 cats keep us going.  I’m certain that if we lived on a farm that number would be far greater!  Save em’ all I say!
