ZZ TOP: Hill’s Final Resting Place
ZZ Top starts their 2014 tour schedule on March 7th in Aspen, Colorado and it can’t come soon enough for bassist Dusty Hill, who apparently has too much time on his hands as he says he has recently given thought to what he will have inscribed on his tombstone.
He says, “Most people I know never think about these things. But I have been turning that over in my mind recently. It may sound morose, but you never get younger. I’ve come up with some ideas, and then rejected them all. There’s an inscription on a wooden marker over a grave in Boot Hill [cemetery in Tombstone, Arizona] that says: ‘Here lies Lester Moore. Four slugs from a .44. No Les. No more.’ I like the humor in that. I’ve come up with a few ideas of my own, but none of them are really that good.”
Despite getting older, the 64-year-old Hill is is in good health and has no immediate plans to depart the planet anytime soon.
