From 1976 to 1995, Bob Seger recorded seven studio albums with his Silver Bullet Band. But that stopped with his 2006 album, Face the Promise, and continues with its follow-up, Ride Out, released earlier this week.

While he still tours with the Silver Bullets, Seger says he chooses to record with session musicians in Nashville because it “takes a long time for a road band to get a good sound in the studio and I have just reached a point where I want to get it done quick.”

Seger and the Silver Bullet Band will make an appearance on Ellen today (Thursday) and they start a U.S. tour next month with dates into March.
