JIMI HENDRIX: Tops List of Best Festival Performances
This Friday, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will unveil the exhibit Common Ground: The Music Festival Experience, and in conjunction with it, they conducted a poll to find out what the Top 10 music festival performances of all-time are.
Topping the list is Jimi Hendrix at the 1967 Monterey International Pop Music Festival. Monterey performances grabbed three of the slots on the list, with Janis Joplin and Otis Redding among the standouts. Santana and Sly and the Family Stone represented Woodstock, and from Live Aid we have Queen and U2.
