Robert Plant kicked off a seven-date North American tour this past Wednesday in Port Chester, New York. Over the weekend, he was in New York at the Brooklyn Academy of Music to perform at the 50th anniversary of his current label, Nonesuch Records,

He tells us this brief road trip is “just to kind of put this music out there because critically it has been received so well.” The music he is referring to is his new album, Lullaby and…the Ceaseless Roar.

After these dates, which run through October 7th in Los Angeles, he has shows lined up in the U.K. in November as well as South America, but plans to do more shows in the U.S. next year. He told us, as a joke, that he’ll be opening for Styx.
