Eddie Van Halen is headed to Washington, D.C. for an appearance at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

The museum has partnered with the Los Angeles-based Ideas Exchange Zocalo Public Square to launch What It Means to Be American, a collaborative three-year initiative aimed at engaging leading thinkers, public figures and Americans from all walks of life to explore how the United States became the nation it is today. Eddie will be there in February and following the moderated discussion, the audience will get a chance to chat with him during a question-and-answer segment.

Eddie is no stranger to the Smithsonian. A replica of his Frankenstein guitar is on display there as part of its National Treasures of American Pop Culture Collection.
